as of today, all accounts with five posts and under will be deleted at the end of every week on sunday.
basically, just hurry up and get your first five posts right after you join. that is all!

11/4/09 First, there have been a lot of changes! We staff know that school and extra curriculum's and such are taking up a lot of people's time, and we appreciate you taking the time to keep returning to this site!
There are have been some changes, and I hope that there are many more to come!

7/20/09 Okai! So, by random conversation, there is a new game on Meerkat Manor! It's called The Insomniac, and the point is to stay up as late as possible. The winner gets the title of Insomniac for a week, and $250. (in game currencey, btw) Rules will be posted in the member lounge!

7/14/09 There are going to be some changes made on MM! We will be deleting more inactive members, inactive clans and boards, and the really old posts. The side table will have a whole new look, and the boards may even look a bit foreign to you. We won't be going into maintenance-mode this time, but we do ask that you are patient with the staff until all these changes are complete. Things will be a little hard to find at first, but no worries; you'll find it! Please check the archives for a post before you ask a staff member about it!

4/20/09 First off, if you are new to Meerkat Manor, you need to post in the Meerkat and Member Sweep so you won't be deleted. Second, I know that the boards are a little messy, and that will be fixed. From April 24, 2009 - April 26, 2009, the site will be under matinence mode! By the time we re-open it back up, we will have a new Meerkat Manor! So, if there is anything new you want to see, post it in the Suggestions thread so we may be able to get it on here before we go into matinence mode.

04/11/09 We are seeing more new and old faces again at Meerkat Manor! Great! Also, if you have any suggestions for MM (Something you want to see on here.), I've started a suggestions thread in the Member Board. We will also try and bring back Meerkat Mansion, a spin off of Meerkat Manor, but Meerkat Mansion is about the true events going on in the Meerkat Manor RPG boards. We will be holding auditions soon for the writers! Check back here soon for more information!

Late Fall
Winter is closing in on the Kalahari - while the days aren't too unbearable, nights have hit deadly temperatures. It's recommended that all kats make sure they're in a shelter before night falls.

Lily thought it was strange that Todd hadn't come back yet, much less that now that the group dewindled she had expected to see more of other meerkats either for the purpose of mating, recruiting even just to chat but they saw no one even Mai was gone. This made her sad, she had no purpose now that the group was gone before everyone was so happy we were all together with pups on the way. The tragdey hit home, Todd and Mai were gone he couldn't help but wonder if they left together but she was pregnant why would Todd want her when he didn't want Hali. He never got to say goodbye to her or to tell her how he felt, how he loved her, how he loved that smile, that laugh. Everything he loved disappeared even Carmella and his pups everything was gone, Playgirl was gone, his love for her remained and they mourned their losses as they sat beneath the Camel Thorn Tree.

Akin gladly welcomed the dry desert air, thankful for some time to clear his head. It had been weeks since he had left the domain known as home to him, and hell to most, the Demonic Aura. He had left his insane mother, sadistic father, and corrupted sister for a new life as a part of the Shadow Assassins, the 'peace-keepers' of the desert. He laughed at the corny irony of their 'peace-keeping' methods: death. Very peaceful, he mused.
The towering tree provided shade, and Akin anticipated the dark coolness of the shade, and was so absorbed in the thought, he almost didn't notice the scent of another meerkat already occupying the base of the camel thorn. He sighed softly. He didn't feel like turning back around, though a small stop to the water trough wouldn't hurt. No, you need some socialization.. with someone other than your clan members, he scolded himself. One good thing about Akin was that he was very self disciplined, and could be very unresponsive, face showing no sign of emotion, not one muscle moving. This tactic was useful when he needed his victim to be unsure of what was to happen next, and anticipation and worry always seemed to make kats more susceptible to the killing, but now, he would just say a friendly high. They'll be no blood shed tonight, he reassured himself.
Walking forward towards the kat, which he could see was female now, he layed down beside her, grooming his mitts. "Hello," he said in between licks. He gave her no more to work with than that, and he wondered if she would walk away to leave him in his desired solitude, or try to 'chat' with him, something he wasn't very good at. Practice makes perfect, I guess..

Lily watched as a meerkat came from out on horizon appearing from a more desert looking part of the kalahari, he acted calm and at first didn't seem to know she was there as he sat and seemed to enjoy the coolness then padded over and laid down next to her it gave her a puzzled look then a unsure reply "Hello?" she had never seen him before "...Nice to meet you?" she said in a kind voice. Reaver went off to rove again, to meet new meers and see old friends.

Akin continued licking his paws, not missing a beat when she replied to his greeting. She seemed a bit unsure of his presence, but that was to be expected from any normal meer. He almost sneered a remark, but had to remind him self that was not a mission, that he was here by choice, not to kill. He nodded his head curtly and replied, "Pleasure's mine."
He picked his head up, stopped cleaning his self, and waited for the fae to say something else. Out of habit, her looked dead ahead, seeming uninterested. Again, another tactic used to make the enemy nervous. He didn't catch his blunder in time to correct it - he didn't want to look inconsistent - and continued staring into the horizon, his breathing barely audible or visible. "You have a name." He said it almost as a command, and monotonously.
He hadn't had a conversation with another non-clan member in a while, and didn't exactly know how to react. He didn't want her to get the idea that they were 'best buddies', but he didn't mind a little small talk here and there. He resumed his statue-like stance, and waited for her to reply.
OoC: It sucks, I know, but like I said, all these timed writings have completely drained my muse. D:

Occ:Don't worry, that's why Reaver left the thread. It's supposed to be dramatic and sad ya know? How weird my karma's been ravaged I would say raped but people including myself would be offended. Eh, my rping has been suckish lately.
She looked at him bewilderly "...Lily" she was confused, puzzled, curious, facinated by him he was so strange unlike any meerkat she had met before she slowly stuck out a paw and poked him watching him carefully as to not gain another scar like the one on the bridge of her nose.
