as of today, all accounts with five posts and under will be deleted at the end of every week on sunday.
basically, just hurry up and get your first five posts right after you join. that is all!

11/4/09 First, there have been a lot of changes! We staff know that school and extra curriculum's and such are taking up a lot of people's time, and we appreciate you taking the time to keep returning to this site!
There are have been some changes, and I hope that there are many more to come!

7/20/09 Okai! So, by random conversation, there is a new game on Meerkat Manor! It's called The Insomniac, and the point is to stay up as late as possible. The winner gets the title of Insomniac for a week, and $250. (in game currencey, btw) Rules will be posted in the member lounge!

7/14/09 There are going to be some changes made on MM! We will be deleting more inactive members, inactive clans and boards, and the really old posts. The side table will have a whole new look, and the boards may even look a bit foreign to you. We won't be going into maintenance-mode this time, but we do ask that you are patient with the staff until all these changes are complete. Things will be a little hard to find at first, but no worries; you'll find it! Please check the archives for a post before you ask a staff member about it!

4/20/09 First off, if you are new to Meerkat Manor, you need to post in the Meerkat and Member Sweep so you won't be deleted. Second, I know that the boards are a little messy, and that will be fixed. From April 24, 2009 - April 26, 2009, the site will be under matinence mode! By the time we re-open it back up, we will have a new Meerkat Manor! So, if there is anything new you want to see, post it in the Suggestions thread so we may be able to get it on here before we go into matinence mode.

04/11/09 We are seeing more new and old faces again at Meerkat Manor! Great! Also, if you have any suggestions for MM (Something you want to see on here.), I've started a suggestions thread in the Member Board. We will also try and bring back Meerkat Mansion, a spin off of Meerkat Manor, but Meerkat Mansion is about the true events going on in the Meerkat Manor RPG boards. We will be holding auditions soon for the writers! Check back here soon for more information!

Please PM Taylor if you have a pregnant female due, or a mob that is to be started. If you have a pregnant female, include the parents, and the mob they are in. If you have a mob to be created, then include the name of the mob, male and female dominants, all members, and which region of the Kalahari you wish them to be located in.

Late Fall
Winter is closing in on the Kalahari - while the days aren't too unbearable, nights have hit deadly temperatures. It's recommended that all kats make sure they're in a shelter before night falls.

{General}
~First off, please be respectful to everyone. I will have no name calling or any one making fun of anyone else because of race, gender, religion (etc) ~There should be NO fighting in the C-Box, or OoC Fighting. If you have a problem with someone, you PM an admin. ~You must obey all the Staff Members! Kelly, Swaithmore, Ookami, JurroRath, Ritz and Foxx make up the staff. Please listen to what they say, and don't argue. ~Please refrain from excessive cursing, especially to any members. ~There will be NO GodModding. GodModding is when your meerkat is invincible. No living thing is invincible. Ever. ~There will be NO Power Playing. Power Playing is when you control another members’ character. ~Please only make up to five meerkats. If you would like another one, you’ll have to PM an admin. Decision will be based on activity of each meerkat, and role-playing skills. ~Please keep your signatures small! If it's like, 750 by 200, you NEED to resize it. This can be done on photobucket or any other similar picture editing website. I don't like seeing large pictures stretching the page. ~Now, we don't expect you to make a 1,000 worded post, but at least try for over 100. It's not that hard. If you have difficulty with that, you could always go to the Literature Corner. ~We honor loyalty. Please don't create an account and never play. No, you don't have to be on every second, but you do need to get on every once in a while.
{In the Game}
{Meerkats}
Meerkats are the heart of all family; they care for each other and are protective of other family members. If for any reason you don’t know how to Role-Play Meerkats, ask a staff member or member for help. Or just watch the Meerkat Manor series, which can be found on Animal Planet.
{Land}
There is no such thing as a meerkat claiming land. Period. Meerkats are social, like a pack of wolves. Most meerkats are already in mobs, but if you want to make a new one, you’ll need a dominant (pairs are more likely), and at least six followers. You can’t make a mob with all of only YOUR characters in it. That would take away all the fun! Each area (North, South, East, West) have a certain amount of acres North: 6256 South: 6189 East: 5765 West: 7111
This of course does not involve nomadic land, which together is quite large, but there is not an exact amount since it’s so obscure.
{Fighting}
Fighting is available for dominant status, mates, and land. Battles, however, are different. A battle is several meerkats against several other meerkats. This can only happen if dominants of both groups agree to the war. You should notice two rows of Posting “Helpers”. At the end of the second row, you should also see a picture of dice. This is used for fights and battles. Each member involved in the fight/battle will click this at the end of each post, and then post their reply. Once each member has posted five times, each sides dice-average will be taken, and the one with the higher average wins the battle. This way, the decision is not biased.
{Mating}
Force breeding is allowed. Please, try and keep it PG-13. And if it is graphic, but a warning in the title. When the mating is done, you must message an admin with the name of the two parents and a staff member letting them know, so that they can determine the number of pups had. You may Role-Play the pups for two weeks and give them up for adoption after two weeks, or keep them. You may only keep them if you haven’t gone over your limit of 5 meerkats. However, if you have four meerkats, and one gets preganant, you can keep the pups. After that, no more.
{Consequences}
The first violation of the rules will result in a warning. The second violation will result in a second warning (or banning for a day, depending on how severe it was) A third violation will result in banning. Amount of time you are banned also depends on how severe the violation was.
